  Ever since Dr. Javiera Syed learned that her sister has a rare genetic disease, she has wanted to make a difference for people in need of quality care. Knowing that seniors often require it the most, she says, “It brings me joy to be there for them—not just as a physician, but also their compassionate friend. I love keeping an eye on their physical and mental health, listening to their stories and doing all I can to make life better.” In her personal time, Dr. Syed likes to play and bake with her daughter and explore new cities with her husband. Her favorite destination so far has been Switzerland.

  Lester Rios Cabrera

  MD

  Dr. Lester Rios Cabrera has “always wanted to help people improve their health.” Connecting with patients and improving their quality of life is his favorite part of his profession. He believes in individualized care and enjoys educating his patients. “I focus on the whole patient and improve their health while also focusing on their happiness and ensuring they feel comfortable coming in to the doctor’s office,” he explains. He especially enjoys caring for his senior patients. “It is extra rewarding to help them and see them improve their health and make them happy,” he says. In his free time, Dr. Rios Cabrera enjoys cooking and restoring old furniture. He is also learning how to play piano and guitar.
