  • Bird or Animal Removal from Chimney

Hire a Certified Chimney Professional for a bird removal from chimney or an animal removal from your chimney. How are the animals able to enter your chimney and fireplace? There are a few conditions that make it easier for animals to get into your chimney: No existing chimney cap in place. Chimney cap has damage, including rusting or missing animal guard. Damage or breakdown of your chase, including rotting of the chase which has allowed the animal to easily gain access.

  • Chimney Dampers

What is the importance of a chimney damper? All of the US Fireplace Products will save you lot of money in “paid” heating and air-conditioning costs. These chimney top dampers provide the best seal in the industry, controlling air loss just like a storm door. In fact, these dampers often pay for themselves in 2-4 years. Old rusted, warped, damaged or missing fireplace dampers account for thousands of lost energy dollars each year. The Energy Top saves hundreds of dollars in annual heating and cooling costs for homeowners across America! It efficiently seals fireplace chimneys with defective leaky or missing fireplace dampers. It attaches to the flue tile liner with silicone adhesive. Energy-Top-Mounted-Damper-2 Energy-Top-Damper-Diagram A chain drops down the chimney and is threaded through a bracket that mounts onto the fireplace wall. Energy Top Fireplace Dampers are made for use only with open burning masonry fireplace chimneys. A Masters Services chimney cap should be installed over an Energy Top Damper to ensure total protection of the chimney crown and curious critters attempting to find a new place to live when your fire is cooling down.

  • Chimney Waterproofing

Chimney Saver waterproofing product is used to stop water leaks in masonry chimneys in Dallas, Houston, and Fort Worth areas. Masters Services Certified Chimney Professional strongly recommends every masonry chimney be waterproofed. Every chimney eventually leaks, stop it before it becomes a problem. Average cost $150 – $250. Chimney Waterproofing Services 10 Year Warranty, 100% Vapor Permeable, Environmentally Friendly, Non Glossy Look, Efflorescence/Stain Protections, Mildew/Fungus Resistant, Freeze/Thaw Protection, Water-based and Environmentally Friendly. Rebuild Masonry Chinmey BeforeIt’s also 100% vapor permeable, which means it won’t trap water vapors that may pass through the bricks when the chimney is in use, unlike other products found in most hardware or home improvement stores. Those products when applied to a masonry chimney can actually slow down water vapors as they pass through the chimney leading to water damage. Moisture from a variety of sources is always present in masonry and concrete. Sealers and silicone coatings form a water resistant surface film which trap water vapors inside. If these vapors cannot escape, they will contribute to spalling, scaling, deterioration, and freeze-thaw damage. ChimneySaver is 100% vapor permeable – a non film-forming water repellent that penetrates and lines masonry pores.Chimney WaterproofingAccording to the Brick Industry Association, chimneys require special attention and maintenance to prevent costly damage caused by water penetration. Because chimneys project above the roof line, they are vulnerable to the elements. Nearly every chimney you encounter has signs of water damage! The first step is to determine the cause and then find the best corrective measures. ChimneySaver, the first product developed specifically for chimneys, has been used successfully by leading chimney professionals for nearly 20 years. It reduces water penetration into the masonry by 99.9%, according to ASTM tests conducted at the University of Wyoming.

  • Gas Logs

Robert H. Peterson and Rasmussen Vented Gas Logs are the most realistic gas logs on the market. Lifetime warranty and realistic quality is what sets these gas logs apart from the competition. We sell and install gas logs in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Oklahoma City, and in Denver. Steps in considering what gas logs you should purchase and how to go about ordering gas logs: 1. Choose a quality gas log set in your price budget. When considering this one should think about how long you are planning on living in the home. I never would consider purchasing a cheap cheap log set from a box store because they are made overseas. Overseas manufactured gas logs often do not function properly and are missing parts which will cost more for installation. You are left with installing a gas appliance on your own or having to go out and hire a chimney sweep. Which in the end you are paying as much for an overseas gas log set than if you were to go with a less expensive quality log set from a “Made in the USA” manufacturer. 2. Purchase the correct size of gas logs that fit your fireplace dimensions. You must purchase the correct size or the log set will not look or perform properly. Often times people want to put a 18″ log set in a middle with fireplace of 32″. It will not draft properly and will look entirely too small for the fireplace. If budget is the reason, save another month to get the proper size. How to measure your firebox for gas logs: Measure the bottom middle width of the fireplace, left to right.Platinum Bright Embersmeasure logs How to measure for gas logs Firebox Middle 20″ – 26″ 18″ log set 27″ – 32″ 24″ log set 33″ – 40″ 30″ log set 40″ – 46″ 36″ log set 3. Purchase a set that goes with your taste and decor. If you have a traditional fireplace with a western theme then go with a natural non-determined log configuration like the Western Campfyre or the Woodstack. If you are a landlord and just want a cheap set for your tenants because you don’t want them burning wood i recommend going with the Charred Oak or even a contractor log set for less money. 4. Upgrades. First choice of upgrades is what kind of burner do I want in my fireplace, single burner or double burner? When considering which burner ask yourself, “Self do I want to see more fire or more burning embers glowing?” Go with the single burner if you want a focus on ember glow, and go with the double burner if you want more fire. Lava rock fills the bottom of the fireplace nicely to complete the decorative Gas Log Upgraded appearance. Platinum Bright Embers offers an enhanced bright look to the ember bed for a natural looking fire. $50. 5. Gas Log Installation should always be performed by a Certified Chimney Professional or a licensed plumber that know how to install gas logs. I would always question whom is going to be installing your logs. We here at Masters Services has sold and installed over 6000 log set in 16 years.

  • Chimney Rebuilds

Masters Services Certified Chimney Professional can tear down any chimney to the roof or the ground and rebuild it back to code. References available upon request. Masonry Chimney Chases We start by tearing down the chimney chase to the roof due to spalling of the bricks. This chimney was falling apart and was leaking water into the living room. Once torn down we replaced the flashing around the base and rebuilt the chimney with a similar brick size and color match the the original chimney. This chimney was done in Plano, Texas in 2011. Masters Services Chimney Sweep then puts a chimney cap on the mortar crown, waterproofs the entire chimney, and then seals the flashing to ensure a water tight seal on the entire structure.

  • Chimney Repairs

Masters Services Certified Chimney Professionals most common fireplace repairs are cracked fireplace panels. We suggest replacing any panels cracked completely into separate pieces. Not replacing these panels can cause the warranty to be voided on the fireplace and flue pipe. Panels are made to only absorb heat and will need to be replaced when cracking has completely separated the panel into two or more pieces. Hairline cracks are not an issue or a fire hazard. We offer No warranty on panels due to usage of the fireplace is out of Masters Services control. Grates crack panels, wood being placed into a already burning fire sometimes falls back on the panels creating cracks. Panels are made to break and absorb heat therefor no warranty is given.
