  Matthew Haynie

  Founding Partner

  Matthew Haynie, a founding partner at Forester Haynie, has dedicated his career to fighting large pharmaceutical companies that have put profits before people’s lives. Matthew manages the firm’s pharmaceutical and medical device litigation team where he enjoys partnering with clients and their families and helping them navigate the legal process during what is often the most difficult time of their lives. Matthew is honored to have the trust of so many clients and their families as they deal with often life-threatening injuries. Since starting his career, Matthew has worked on thousands of cases from start to finish. Through his many years as a pharmaceutical and medical device lawyer, Matthew has developed an in-depth understanding of the legal system and how to best navigate that system on behalf of his clients. In fact, Matthew has helped clients recover tens of millions of dollars in settlements. Though Matthew’s career has focused on representing plaintiffs in pharmaceutical litigation, he knew early in life that he wanted to dedicate his career to helping others. As an undergraduate student, Matthew interned for Andrew Laming, a Queensland House Representative in the Parliament of Australia who was instrumental in gaining access to healthcare for indigenous Australians. Matthew also worked on an award-winning documentary about exiled Tibetans living in refugee camps and monasteries across India. Both of these encounters opened his eyes to the atrocities human beings experience and strengthened his resolve to pursue a career in law that would allow him to seek justice for those who are injured by the wrongful acts of others. Matthew graduated with his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Arkansas, where he graduated magna cum laude. He was a recipient of the Senior Honor Citation, an award given to the top graduating male and female student in each class. Recently, Matthew was named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers.

  Jay Forester

  Founding Partner

  Jay Forester is a Class, Collective, and Mass Action lawyer and founding partner at Forester Haynie PLLC. Mr. Forester also manages the firm’s wage & hour practice, a subject matter he has regularly presented on and published on, including for the American Bar Association. In addition to wage and mass torts matters, Mr. Forester has also represented individuals in personal injury lawsuits, deceptive trade practice cases, breach of contract disputes, Title VII discrimination and harassment matters, and other retaliation claims. Prior to receiving his JD from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Forester received a BA from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and MA from the George Washington University. Mr. Forester is a member of the State Bar of Texas and has been admitted to practice in numerous federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Outside of work, Jay is a dedicated public servant. He serves on numerous boards including for the American Bar Association where he is currently serving a two-year term as the ABA Young Lawyer Division’s Representative from North/West Texas. Mr. Forester has previously served as the Chair of the Individual Rights and Responsibilities section of the State Bar of Texas, is a member of the Texas Bar College, and is a Fellow for numerous bar foundations.
